Oxfam Trailtrekker
If you don’t believe in half measures then TrailTrekker could be the event for you. This 100km hike through the Yorkshire Dales is tough. Are you ready for the challenge of a lifetime?

We’ve created this TrailTrekker route for its varied terrain and its stunning views of the Yorkshire Dales. Not for the faint-hearted, this 30hr+ challenge will take you on a 100 kilometers trek up hill and down dale, scaling Malham Cove and Pen-y-Ghent. You have to push yourself hard but doing the event in a team means that you get tons of encouragement and support along the way.
Everyone who took part in Trailtrekker 2011 have the added satisfaction of knowing that they played a big part in the £340,000 that is expected to be raised this year for Oxfam. This money raised goes towards providing clean water and sanitation during international emergencies, such as the floods in Pakistan or the earthquake in Haiti.
Trailtrekker also helps fund long-term projects such as Oxfam’s GROW campaign to fix the endemic failures in how we produce food that leaves one on seven people worldwide going to their beds hungry. It’s not just drought. Or famine. Or a bad harvest. A whole host of interlinked factors are stopping nearly 1 billion people worldwide from having enough to eat. The global food system is bust. Oxfam is trying to fix it on many levels, including promoting sustainable harvest techniques and a move away from intensive farming.
The success of all our events depends on the hard work, commitment and enthusiasm of our volunteers. Contact WildFox staff if you want to join the team at Oxfam Trailtrekker.

Race Tips
- Train hard, fight easy! Good training is a must for this one, start progressive, do lots of hills, practice in the dark at night.
- Check out the awesome view from the summit of Pen-y-Ghent.
- Stick together, everyone in the team will have highs and lows throughout the event, the more cohesive you are as a team the easier it will be.
- Change your socks often, it will feel like putting on new feet!
- It was the best event I have ever attended (and I have done quite a few!). The quality of the facilities were second to none. Drinks, snacks, bars, first aid, cakes, hot food, massages ... what more could we have asked for, fantastic! - Karen Watson
- Quite simply unbelievable! Food and drink every 10km or so, incredibly well marked course (day and night), amazing marshals, great mixture of terrain (flat canal, rugged steep hills, road, beautiful river sections, rocky bits and lovely Yorkshire villages - the event had it all! There is not one single thing that as a team we could have asked for! - Jonathan Mayne
