Artemis Highland 100
Get on your bikes and grit your teeth for the Artemis Highland 100 Challenge!
Get on your bikes and grit your teeth for the Artemis Highland 100 Challenge. It’s a great way to get out, get fit and raise money for leading charities, all set against the backdrop of stunning Highland Scotland.
With Bronze, Silver and Gold routes, there’s something to suit cyclists of all abilities. All 3 routes leave Kenmore and either take cyclists through glorious Glen Lyon, the longest glen in Scotland or up to Loch Rannoch. After circumnavigating Loch Rannoch, Gold and Silver routes then have a challenging off-road section known historically as the ‘coffin route’ back over to Glen Lyon. All routes follow the 22 kilometre off-road track around Loch Lyon. Utterly magical and remote this section will test your skills and demand all your concentration - you will get wet feet crossing the many fords that join the loch but you’ll love every minute!
Race Tips
- Get the miles in! It's a long way and your backside won't thank you for it if you haven't done the training!
- Invest in decent cycling shorts - they will save you a lot of grief during the day... Spend that extra tenner
- Remember your glad rags, there's an awesome party at the finish!
- Hire a tipi in the event hub in Killin, as it's the most brilliant setting alongside the river Lochy with the spectacular backdrop of the Meall Nan Tarmachan ridge
- Practice changing your inner-tube, you just never know
- I can't believe it's all over!! We are all on rather a downer this morning, the whole weekend really was incredible and after looking forward to it / preparing for so long it now feels quite stran... there's always next year I guess! Well done to you and all of the team, the organisation was truly phenomenal. I have done various runs and challenges in the past and can safely say that none of them match up to the Artemis Highland 100. Any chance we can get hold of that carrot cake recipe?! - Catherine Robins, Brewin Dolphin
- I just want to say thank you to you and everyone who contributed for putting on such a well organised event over the weekend. Registration, the camp site, catering, entertainment, marshals, rest stops, showers, massages (god send) just everything was brilliant. The ride was hellish but the support from everyone at the rest stops and the marshals waiting to warn of pot holes & deep rivers was inspiring. Everyone was very genuine and that definitely helped push me through the final 30 miles. I've been to some major festivals and rallies over the years and the organisation was nothing compared to the Artemis 100. - Joel Rogers
- I would like to thank you and your team for organising and supporting the Artemis Highland 100 charity bike ride in such a professional manner. WildFox Events did a fantastic job! This was the first event of this type that I have taken part in and having enjoyed it so much I hope to do many more. Well done to everyone and thank you all very much. - Alan Carson
- Thank you very much for organising the event last weekend - it was fantastic, definitely the best cycling event I've entered. The route was great (well apart from the dreaded Loch Lyon), all the marshals very cheery and helpful, and the carrot cake absolutely sublime! - Hugo Elliot, Deutsche Bank
- Great event!! Our team a fantastic weekend and I think we'll all be back next year again. Have to say the organisation was fantastic, one of our team suffered a broken bike and a replacement was brought out to him part way round the course. The food stops were excellent and certainly kept us going with high energy drinks and cakes. - Simon Bennett
- Back from Killin and reflecting on a wonderful weekend. Just thought I'd drop you a line to thank you for such wonderful organisation before, during and after the Artemis Highland 100. It was absolutely flawless. The new loop was tough but a great challenge. Definitely keep it in for next time! For those not so used to wild, rugged and remote places, it must have seemed like another world. I guess we experienced it at its most benign too - it would be a huge challenge if it was cold, windy and wet... In my case it was interrupted by a puncture on a sharp rock that tore into the tyre, and an enforced inner tube change - only 2 miles from the end of the loop. - Colin Bell, Aegon
