Hear David and Andy’s daring tale of high seas adventure

Hear David and Andy’s daring tale of high seas adventure

WildFox’s Director David Fox Pitt will be giving a spine tingling account of his and Andy Hastings experience on the Operation Frankton Memorial Expedition this summer. David, Andy and three other hardy adventurers, including Mark Beaumont, re-enacted the famous WW2 wartime raid by the ‘Cockleshell Heroes.’

Now the subject of a new book by Paddy Ashdown their operation by sea kayaks on Bordeaux Harbor was praised by Admiral Lord Mountbatten as ‘the most courageous and imaginative of all the raids ever carried out by the men of Combined Operations.’ Sadly only two of the ten-man mission made it out alive.

David’s team were a little more fortunate, although their adventure was not without incident. Hear about both expeditions, seventy years apart, in London at 7pm on the 6th of December at the Handel Street Cadet Centre, Yeomanry House, Handel Street, London WX1N 1NP.
