Artemis thanks local Mountain Rescue Teams
The Artemis Charitable Foundation donates £2,000 to local Mountain Rescue Teams to say thanks for supporting both the Artemis Highland 100 cycle challenge and the Artemis Great Kindrochit Quadrathlon. 32 members of Killin, Tayside and Lomond Mountain Rescue teams assisted us by providing safety cover on the rugged and remote sections of these stunning Highland Perthshire routes. Local guy Drew Blake who is a member of the Killin team took part in the Quadrathlon coming a very respectable 10th out of 110 teams.
The Mountain Rescue contingent provided even more excitement at the Artemis Highland 100 after being called out to rescue a lost walker near Tyndrum just when the party was starting to kick off, with the job done they were returned by helicopter back to the party in true James Bond style! However, once the helicopter had left they started to walk back to the main marquee straight into a huge bog, that took the edge off their ego’s, turned out to be a bit more Jimmy than James Bond, never mind!
