A huge thanks to all our WildFox super heroes.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part in our six WildFox events this year. A grand total of 2,711 people in over 1,000 teams pushed themselves to their limit for our charity challenges in 2011, raising over £1.6 million for good causes around the world.

We’ve worked out that everyone walked, ran, kayaked or swam around 120,000 miles on all six of our adventure challenges. That is equivalent of four journeys around the world, or one flight half way to the moon! No wonder our participants ended up drinking 42,000 litres of water and eating 6,432 slices of cake along the way.

What is even more astonishing is that everyone took on the hills, rain, midges, dust and heat with so much heart, good humor and team spirit. They were rewarded with stunning views of some of the most breathtaking landscapes that Britain has to offer and a huge sense of achievement, no matter how fast or how far they ventured.

Since 2000 our event participants have raised £20 million for good causes, both here in the UK and in the world’s poorest countries. Our challenges in 2011 benefited: ABF The Soldiers Charity, Alzheimer’s, Hearts and Balls, Maggies, Mary’s Meals, Mercy Corps, NSPCC, Oxfam, Poppyscotland, Prince’s Scotland Youth Business Trust (PSYBT) and Sightsavers.

On behalf of all of the staff here at WildFox Events I would like to give a huge thanks to everyone who has taken part in our 2011 event season,” Commented Director David Fox-Pitt. “You are all the real heroes of our events – all the money we raised is down to your energy, enthusiasm and commitment.”

A huge thanks to all our WildFox super heroes.
